Eclipse

the Common Raven

Eclipse is a Common Raven who joined our education team on April 8, 2024, which is where he gets his name: this was the day of a total solar eclipse! Eclipse was illegally kept and raised by a human and imprinted on humans as a result, and no longer sees himself as a Common Raven. This would mean that he would be unable to find a mate in the wild, but it is likely that other Common Ravens would attack him due to his unusual behavior.

Did you know?

Common Ravens are often confused with American Crows, but they have a handful of differences. The first is their size: Common Ravens are about twice the size of American Crows. They have much larger and rounder beaks and wedge-shaped tails. Their vocalizations may also be a clue: Common Ravens have a croaking sound, which is much different than the classic “caw!” of the American Crow.

You can support Eclipse by symbolically adopting him!
